A: Yes an Evo could beat a CTS-V in a track race or rally race, but who gonna rally a CTS-V? Straightline CTS-V wins buy a slight margian. The Evo X pumps out 291 hp and has 0-60 of 4.6 sec, while Caddy has a 4.5 sec 0-60. Trackwise Evo wins because it has a TC-SST (Twin Clutch Sportronic Shift Transmission) gear box, Active Yaw Control which is part of S-AWC ( Super all wheel control system) which also includes ASC, ABS. So it can take corners faster and still keep planted. There is no understeer which you would get in the CTS-V. Evo could win on street if you have the manual because u can redline it to your liking, or mod the engine with intake, cat back system when they come out. Evo better car

A: The CTS is Cadillac’s best selling car and tends to retain it’s value… not to mention that you’re talking about the V series, which is pretty rare. It’s gonna hold it’s value and even in 2011, you’re talking about a $40,000 car.

A: 91 premium octane….The engine has to burn that octane due to the fact that lower octane you will lose power and the engine can’t burn it efficently….It’s designed to run on minimum 91. if you use 89 it will not power up as fast and shake. 87 even worse power lose and worse shaking. 91 is more easy to burn it’s got a lower flash point than other octanes.

A: The basic CTS runs about $41K. Consumer Reports lists nearly every Audi as a car to avoid.
Look at Infiniti or Lexus models if you want something in the $35K to $65K range that will turn heads and last a long time.

I’ve read a few things about the up and coming CTS-V. The LS7 engine is going to step up the performance without question.
The new 08′ model CTS already has an All Wheel Drive option.

A: You get the original only at the dealer.
It would be cheaper to get a small aftermarket unit. They sell them everywhere (Radio Shack, Sears, Circuit city, etc.)

A: Yes, automatic transmission is available as a no-cost option on 2009 models. I didn’t check availability for prior years. CTS-V is noted for being the fastest production sedan; I think it edges out the Lexus and Jaguar in performance, and spaciousness.

~I totally agree with you on the what the other answer-ers have commented on the CTS-V. To ensure the outmost performance from the redesigned V8 engine. Cadillac tuned the suspension and engine on the tracks of the Nurburgring. With a whole new look, and strategically priced, it really is a new kid on the block. First of all, in terms of the gas mileage, any sport- oriented track car will not get good mileage, in a way, gas mpg shouldn’t be a factor to be looked at when we talk about a V8, V10, V12, and let alone, a W16 engine configuration. Secondly, in terms of a roomier cabin…I find the CTS’s cabin ok, but mind you, the Americans have always been all over comfort and great space, so it is expected for a plush, yet sporty interior. Thirdly, not contradicting what you have said, but the performance is a bit wild and crazy actually. On the tracks, the CTS-V rounds the corners like never seen before from American sport cars, and has immense acceleration, but the power just seemed to jump out at you at the wrong times.

A: you can’t do it. The cam sensor is at the rear of your LS1 and the cam sensor is at the front of the LS3 in the CTSv. Besides that is a lot of work to change out a stock cam to install another stock cam. Here are some performance regrinds that alot of people are having success with, and they have a goo price.

A: I don’t know if it will connect to the auto tranny in the AWD model or not, but if so, I doubt if it will be reliable. That transmission is not designed to handle the power and torque of the V8, if it was Cadillac would likely have offered the that CTS-V with an automatic, but they didn’t.
