A: Fold out the wiper arm and remove the wiper blade. Remove the protective cover from the nut. Put some tape around the arm that is above the painted surface (to protect the paint). Loosen the nut (do not remove it entirely – this will protect the threads).

Press the wiper arm downward (toward the hood) and tap it gently (just behind where the nut is). Use a plastic or rubber mallet.

Remove the nut and the wiper arm.

Q: How much is it a month to lease a brand new loaded Volvo XC70?
My wife and I love the Volvo but don’t want to own one since the repair costs are so high. We like the XC70 but don’t have a clue what a monthly lease would cost. We’d like a 12,000-15,000 annual mile allowance and a pretty “loaded” model.

A: that’s a question that’s not easy to answer. their are a lot of parts that go into that equation. rebates, window sticker, money down, lenght of the lease. even the best people in the car business can’t just finger that out with a lease calculator

Q: How do you reset the computer of a 2002 Volvo XC70?
I recently replaced a bulb in my 2002 Volvo (license plate bulb–or position light) but don’t know how to get the internal computer to recognize it–is there a reset button?

The computer search gets to a point then it dosent go to the next step , it just gets stuck

A: There’s more than 10 computer modules in that car…Do u know the particular one that’s having communication problems…dem,cem,ecm,etm,psm,aum,tcm,rem,ccm,imm,etc,etc…

Q: How do you remove a wiper arm off a Volvo XC70?
My arm is positioned so that the wiper hits the A piller on my windshield, How do you remove this arm. I took the nut off and tryed to pry up but it won’t move.

A: i dang near beat mine with a hammer I couldn’t get it off. took the blade back to pep boys and they had someone come out and put it on for me

Q: One of the coil springs broke on my 2001 Volvo xc70, does the other need to be replaced?
The dealer is telling me to replace them both. He is also telling me to repair the vehicle the way it should be repaired I have about $4700 in repairs! What a joke. He says that if I don’t replace the other coil spring the car will not drive correctly. Is that true? If so, I may have him fix the broken coil spring and take it to another repair shop for the other!

A: Think about it. Coil springs get weak over time. That is why one broke. If you put just one new one on, the other one is weaker and it will drive odd. Plus the new one will place more strain on the old one and it will soon break too and you have to go through the same process over again. Just do not have it done at the dealer. They charge too much. Any shop with ASE certified mechanics can do the job just as good and with less cost.

Q: What kind of gas is used by the Volvo XC70 from the 2002-2005 models?
I want a used car that can hold a family of 5 for daily driving around the city of Richmond? I want to spend no more than $12500.

A: This car has optimum using 91 Octane gas, like all Volvos.

I just bought a used Volvo that has such a stereo – an Alpine ida-x001. I have no iPod, but the stereo also has a USB port – so I can load USB flash drives w/music and plug em right in.

I am trying to see which variety of Mobil Delvac 1300 Super is appropriate for this vehicle.

A: Volvo recommends a good 10 w 30 grade of oil. I use exxon brand I believe the dealers in my area use valvoline and some swear by mobil1 or a synthetic . But it must be 10w30 according to Volvo. and a oem or better oil filter

Q: where is the blower motor in a 2001 volvo xc70?
So gross! I baby bird came out of the floor vent of my cross country this morning and I was told to check the blower motor for a nest but where is it?

A: it probably on the passenger side of the car inside the vehicle. underneath the dashboard area.you will have to remove all the plastic shroud{area near your feet when sitting in passenger seat} ,should be held in by a number of screws. i had a volvo 740 station wagon same type of problem.if you could get a diagram of it location from volvo dealer parts department,or have their techs do the work for you .good luck

Q: Is there supposed to be a screen,etc. to cover the radiator under the bumper on a 2005 Volvo XC70 2.5 L Turbo?
The underside of the front bumper leaves a gaping horizontal open area to allow stones, etc. to possibly hit the radiator. It’s a poor design. It looks as if there should be a protective grill or screen there? Any comments, please? Thanks!

A: yes there is and especially a 2005 volvo i have a screen on my 2000 volvo .
